PILOT CLUB – EVENTS FOR AUGUST 2021 and EARLY SEPTEMBER
Pilot Club is not yet running enough events for a whole programme, but we do now have some events for August, & for early September.
We expect all members and prospective members who attend Pilot events to follow the current guidelines concerning vaccinations, social-distancing, mask-wearing, limits on numbers etc. At the moment we are not saying “just turn up” for any events, because of Covid limitations, so members and prospective members must please contact the host before you go.
Prospective members should contact our new members’ co-ordinator via the box on the first page of this website.
Many of our events are outdoors and therefore are weather-dependent.
EVENTS FOR AUGUST
Picnic in a member’s garden in St Albans. Please bring your own picnic. (On a Saturday)
Music in Cassiobury Park, Watford. Joe Farry, Watford musician performing music thro decades from 50s. (On a Sunday)
A visit to the Hill Garden & Pergola on Hampstead Heath. The Pergola is one of the hidden delights of Hampstead Heath, overlooking West Heath. The Hill Garden is a beautiful, landscaped garden which was the private garden of a now-demolished manor house. Cafe on site. (On a Tuesday)
Pub Night in a pub garden in St Albans. (On a Thursday)

Tour of the Kings Cross development, and learn about its past, present and future. Meet at St Albans station (On a Saturday)
It’s Dahlia Festival time ! Join a walk from a member’s house in St Albans. to Aylett’s Garden Centre for their amazing display of dahlias. Return for tea and cakes in a member’s garden.

Tea and cake in a member’s garden in St Albans. (On a Sunday)
Music in Cassiobury Park, Watford. Trinity Swing, a Northwood-based Swing Band playing classic Jazz standards from the 30s, 40s and 50s (On a Sunday)
REGULAR EVENTS FOR AUGUST & SEPTEMBER:
SOME SUNDAYS. Enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon listening to Music by the Fleetville Swing Band in Clarence Park, St Albans.
MONDAYS. (not Bank Holidays). Quiz in a Pub in St Albans.
FRIDAYS. Snooker at a snooker club in St Albans.
SEPTEMBER HOLIDAY. 2 members have booked a 4 night stay at a Craft and Spa Hotel in Devon. Members are more than welcome to join them, and will need to make their own booking and travel arrangements.
