PILOT CLUB DIARY OF EVENTS NOVEMBER 2016

AND COMING EVENTS FOR DECEMBER 2016

In November our Thursday Pub Nights were at The Old
Bell, Harpenden; the Plough at Tyttenhanger; The Chequers in Redbourn; and the
Prae Wood Hotel in St
Albans. On three of these
pub-nights there was the option of a meal beforehand. There was also a Friday drinks night at a pub in St Albans town centre. The first Tuesday lunch was at a pub
in St Albans, and members went to the Monday night quiz at the
pub on the Hatfield road.

Our traditional November 5th event was
to watch the fireworks in Verulamium Park, followed by warming food in a member’s home nearby.

Other evening events were “Sister Act” at the Arena
in St Albans; “Annie” at the Radlett Centre; a Beetle Drive with ploughman’s supper at a St Albans church; and a screening in Hemel Hempstead of the Australian ballet’s “Cinderella”.

Dancers went to the dance club in Edgware to dance
or listen to the music chosen by Eddie the Editor.

Days out included a visit by train to the British Museum to see the “Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds” exhibition. There was also an
afternoon playing Diminishing Whist at a member’s home, with tea and cakes; and
a day of crafting.
